Rachel Lime Combs the Cosmos for Connection on Voyager 3 (KEXP Premiere) photo by Alan De Leon Taverna “Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.” This inspirational-in-a-cheugy-“Live, Laugh, Love”-way quote is often attributed to the astronomer and author Carl Sagan but, in truth, he actually never said it. It certainly feels like he could have but it was actually a reporter in a 1977 Newsweek profile of him that wrote those words. Something Sagan did actually scribe in his 1985 sci-fi novel Contact, which I personally find to be more impactful, is “The universe is a pretty big place. If it s just us, seems like an awful waste of space.”
