A day after Santa Clara County sheriff laurie smith installed the cameras she paid for in the jail, a major fight between inmates was caught on camera. The sheriff said it broke out yesterday afternoon in the maximum Security Unit of the jail in san jose. We told you about the fight on abc7 at 4 00 yesterday. The unit was in lockdown for hours. The sheriff said that in gores were hurt trying to break it up but it is a coincidence it happened in the same area where the new cameras were install on when. The cameras were purchased by the sheriff at costco spend 700 of her own money after learning a county was going to add cameras and it would take two years and 20 million.
