have to start in the house because it s a budget reconciliation bill. right. but everything should be agreed upon. so an agreement is good? well, no, but an agreement of exactly what s in there, the language needs to be worked out. and a commitment that everybody s going to vote for it. and everyone s going to vote for it, and if republicans offer amendments in a vote-a-rama, we re not going to have democratic senators suddenly vote with republicans. the idea here is unlike many other bills, many other times we do this, where the house passes a bill, it s not necessarily something that the senate can do. the senate then goes and passes their bill and then we conference or we have back-and-forth. this is a pre-conferenced bill, which means everybody, everybody in the senate, and everybody in the house has to agree on every piece of it. but pelosi says that she s bringing the infrastructure bill, the bipartisan bill to the floor of the house tomorrow for consideration. are
king, an independent, as well as john hickenlooper, they re all vaccinated, kate. and like you sate, this is not the first time we ve seen a fully vaccinated senator announce that they had tested positive for covid-19. just a couple of weeks ago, we saw lindsey graham from south carolina making that announcement. there s no way to know exactly where they contracted or got covid-19 from. but one thing to keep in mind, it wasn t that long ago lawmakers are on recess right now, but it was just a couple of weeks ago excuse me, a couple of days ago, that they were all on the senate floor for this vote-a-rama, which requires senators to be close together. some were wearing masks, some weren t. but one thing to keep in mind, these senators, in their day-to-day work with cons constituents and each other, they re around a lot of people for a long period of time. one thing that was interesting
i would walk over there and hug my colleague from alabama. and i will tell you right now, thank god because there s some people who have said that their members of this deliberative body that want to defund the police, to my horror. and now this senator has given us the gift that finally once and for all we can put to bed this scurrilous accusation that somebody in this great esteemed body would want to defund the police. so let s all of us, 100 people, not walk but sashay down there and vote for this amendment and put to rest the lies. i m sure i will see no political ads attacking anybody here over defund the police. i would ask unanimous consent to add something else to this bill. can we add that every senator here wants to defund the police, believes in god, country, and apple pie. thank you. vote-a-rama. that was a jedi mind trick.
