COVID-19 vaccines winding down at fairgrounds

After operating for over three months and providing more than 74,000 vaccines, COVID-19 activities at the Volusia County Fairgrounds are beginning to wind down. The last day for first dose vaccines at the site will be Friday, April 30, and second dose vaccines will be provided as scheduled through Friday, May 28. “When vaccine efforts started in January, the partnership between the county and Department of Health to provide vaccines at the fairgrounds was a vital step in ensuring our residents had the ability to receive a COVID-19 vaccine as quickly and efficiently as possible,” said Volusia County Public Protection Director Joe Pozzo. “I’m encouraged that vaccine supply is now meeting demand and that vaccines are available at many locations throughout the county.
