As the year winds down, Wheels On Fire winds up. The perennial Preferred competitor at Woodbine Mohawk Park collected another win at the $34,000 top class with a stalking performance to clench the cash in 1:49.1 on Saturday night (Nov. 5).
After Friday night's Breeders Crown two-year-old finals wrapped up at Woodbine Mohawk Park with a record upset, Heavens Showgirl A pulled off her own upset on the undercard as she edged out the favourites in a photo finish in the $32,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace.
"I’m sure Tony [Alagna] feels she’s going to be competitive.Sometimes in horse racing you take chances and some risks. With that there are some rewards. It’s a privilege to race in the Breeders Crown."
Dropping out of stakes competition, So Much More picked up where she left off back in the Fillies & Mares Open ranks she dominated throughout the summer at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Several of the top competitors at Woodbine Mohawk Park found their way to the winner's circle in the three top-class conditioned events on the Mohawk Million undercard Saturday (Sept. 24).
