============== Today, 8th January 2021, water repair crews were forced to halt, due to weapons fired in their close vicinity. After receiving a Window of Silence (WoS) agreed by both sides of the conflict, yesterday, repair brigades from Voda Donbasa water company (VD) started their assessment of the damaged pipe supplying clean water to Toretsk city from Horlivka. One team from the Non-Government Controlled Area (NGCA) side had completed small repairs, however a second team, which was accompanied at the time by a heavy repair vehicle, approaching today from the Government Controlled Area (GCA) side, was stopped by small arms fire and perceived shooting of a grenade launcher, very close to the team. The incident happened close to Chigari (Leninske) village, close to Toretsk city. The workers stopped immediately and, after contacting the authorities, received additional assurances of their safety. WASH Cluster Incident Report №276, 04/01/2021 Format MAJOR LEAK IN TREATED WATER PIPELINE CROSSING LINE OF CONTACT On the morning of 4th January Toretsk department of Voda Donbasa (VD) water company reported that treated water stopped reaching the city. Major leaks in the main water pipeline from Horlivka Filter station #2, in the Non-Government Controlled Areas (NGCA) to Toretsk city, in the Government Controlled Area (GCA) were identified later in the day by VD a crew. The pipe passes through the settlements Pivdenne, and Zalizne. Due to huge losses of treated water the management of the water company decided to stop pumps, which normally send potable water to all these civilian communities. The cause of the leaks is unknown and cannot be clarified until VD will receives a Window of Silence (WoS) to initiate repair works, hopefully on 5th January.
