The latest series of hotels to make it into the Design Hotels collection - a handpicked portfolio of one-of-a-kind properties across the globe - has been revealed.
Looking to the year ahead, we’re diving deep into six mindful themes and placing a special focus on properties that follow suit. Specifically, we’re thinking about hotels that align themselves with the concepts of regenerative travel, cultural exchange, local experiences, conscious destinations, community wellbeing, and forward-thinking design and architecture. These six hotels spread around the world, from a Maldivian atoll to a Finnish town to the jungles of the Mexican coast embody these pillars.
Members of Design Hotels around the world are known for their interior visions, some of which are created by up-and-coming designers and others by industry heavyweights. Be it the former or the latter, our properties excel in establishing visionary interior design concepts. The signature aesthetic languages found at these eight hotels from New York City to an Italian village to a Maldivian atoll are particularly worth highlighting.
A miniature rural Italian village in its own right, the newly opened Vocabolo Moscatelli is housed within a former monastery dating back to the 12th century. Original stone and brick structures are augmented by crisp, contemporary lines. A chapel gives way to a bespoke iron pergola. Herbal and floral aromas from the gardens waft through the air. Umbrella-topped tables surround a central piazza, and each room has its own distinct design. Plus, breakfast is offered all day, and guests become part of an intimate community. Combined, all of this results in a relaxing historical oasis with an undeniably modern feel.
