An Erie County beekeeper shares his experience with beekeeping and apitourism

Aleksandar Buntic considers bees his comfort animal. He checks on his bees as soon as he wakes up. When he gets home from work, he visits them again. Buntic, 57, owner of MV Power LLC Apiaries, at 3420 Alpine Drive in Millcreek Township, began beekeeping in his home country of Serbia when he was 14 years old.  It’s the pastime of the poor people, Buntic said. I started kind of for money, but I got intrigued with how to sell things. When Buntic and his wife, Vladislava Buntic, had children, he believed they would struggle to find jobs in Serbia. After years of navigating the immigration process, Buntic s family moved to the United States and settled in Erie, where he again picked up beekeeping.
