Never too late to write that novel

I can still quote the opening lines. At 12 or 13 I read my first adult book, Gone with the Wind. I couldn’t put it down until when –  about 15 pages from the end – I realized it was not going to finish well. So I closed the book and imagined my own ending. Scarlet and Rhett ran into each other’s arms. I fixed everything! Some feelings never leave you. Thinking of Women’s Day and World Book Day, it struck me those two books, that fired my imagination and love of books so long ago, were both written by women, Anna Sewell and Margaret Mitchell.
