Veterans and community members marched down the streets of downtown Vancouver to honour the sacrifice and memories of Indigenous soldiers for National Aboriginal Veterans Day.
People with connections to the Kamloops residential school have been drawn to a memorial at the site commemorating the estimated 215 children whose remains the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation says are buried there based on the findings of a recent radar survey. Some say they hope the discovery leads to similar searches across Canada and is the start of a new stage of healing in the reconciliation process.
