The “Nunsense” title alone lends itself to the description that Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma used to promote its latest production that opened Wednesday night at the Myriad Botanical Gardens in downtown Oklahoma City.
“‘Nunsense’ is habit-forming,” the news release stated, and the production lived up to that with lots of nun and light-hearted Catholic jokes, a zany storyline and, of course, in Lyric’s usual style, a very talented cast, all women.
Directed by Lyric’s Ashley Wells, the high-energy musical made good use of the round water stage in the Myriad Gardens Wednesday night, and being outdoors with the ducks and passersby again gave the production a wonderfully unique feel.
