The Mayhem CEO Ivan Zhou said in a blog post that his team will join Niantic to continue building new social experiences that will amplify and connect the global community of Niantic players. As part of the acquisition, Zhou said it will sunset Mayhem as a standalone product in February so it can focus on a shared vision at Niantic and drive new innovations in social for AR real-world gaming.
