Vaping may be less harmful than smoking traditional cigarettes, though it s still linked to long-term lung damage, a major review from researchers in Germany found this week.
Davey Bauer, 34, from DeSoto, Missouri, went into lung failure after vaping for 10 years. Doctors gave him temporary breast implants to keep blood flowing while he awaited a transplant.
More than 17 million US adults are now vaping, and nearly half report smoking e-cigarettes every day, a US national study found.
Researchers also found that vaping has increased by one-fifth.
