The plan to construct the Rs 1,800 crore Ram temple in Ayodhya was discussed with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) more than 15 years ago by Ashok Singhal. L&T had promised to construct the temple according to Indian tradition. The temple, set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, will be a three-story tall architectural marvel with 392 pillars and 44 gates. Other temples dedicated to various deities will also be built in the temple complex.
