But that’s when the 35-year-old IAS officer’s past work as a risk analyst with British insurance giant Aon’s Chicago office comes in handy. Venugopal’s hands-on live oxygen tracking and dashboarding of the Covid situation has made Tirunelveli the district with the lowest per capita oxygen consumption in the state of Tamil Nadu, even though it has a high Covid case load as on 18 May the number of active cases in the district was pegged at 6,528.

However, Kalyan-Dombivli continues to see a new trend of lavish weddings with bull dance. The Vitthalwadi police have booked a groom and his father for violating the Covid-19 rules. A police said the haldi function was celebrated at Chinchpada area in Kalyan east. Even after restrictions to maintain social distance and celebration of weddings are banned. The father Prakash Mhatre and son Vaibhav Prakash Mhatre had celebrated the haldi ceremony without wearing masks or following social distancing. The function that was celebrated on Friday night had noticed Mhatre dancing with their bulls. Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation official Deepak Shinde had approached the police and registered a case, said a police officer.

Watch: Water pipeline damaged during civic work in Thane Mirror Online / Updated: Mar 15, 2021, 12:17 IST Water supply was affected in Thane’s According to the information shared by the Regional Disaster Management Cell of Thane Municipal Corporation, the pipeline was damaged near Telephone Exchange on Gokhale Road in Vishnu Nagar. The incident took place around 6 am and no one has been injured. A video from the location shows water gushing out of the pipe. Naupada area civic officials rushed to the spot and the repair work was completed by 12 pm. Water supply to the affected areas started smoothly, RDMC chief Santosh Kadam said.

Maha: Couple held for extorting Rs 8 cr from developers By PTI| Posted by Neha | Updated: 29th December 2020 8:04 pm IST (Representational Image) Thane: A couple was on Tuesday arrested from Dombivli city of Maharashtra’s Thane district for allegedly extorting Rs 8 crore from developers by threatening to file false complaints of illegal construction, police said. Based on a complaint lodged by a couple of developers earlier this month, the police had registered an FIR against the couple and two of their relatives, senior inspector S S Sable of Vishnu Nagar police station said. As a first step, the police have nabbed Vidya Mhatre and her husband Vishwanath Mhatre, the official said.
