ADB to support India's industrial corridor development with $250 mn loan

Uniindia: New Delhi, Dec 1 (UNI) To boost India’s manufacturing competitiveness, strengthen national supply chains and boost linkages with global value chains, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed an agreement with the Government for a $250 million loan to support the country’s National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP).

Economy to grow by 11% despite pandemic: Jaishankar

Talks with China to continue on standoff despite little change on ground: EAM External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has said the Indian economy is poised to grow by about 11% despite the COVID-19 crisis. “It is not only the pent-up demand that is set to rebound but there is also the prospect of new growth in the post-COVID era as per the Reserve Bank of India’s monetary policy for FY 2021-22,” Mr. Jaishankar told the media at the BJP State office here on Saturday. On the standoff on the LAC in eastern Ladakh, Mr Jaishankar said military commanders of India and China had held nine rounds of negotiations after the skirmish in Galwan Valley to ease the tensions following an agreement on the disengagement of troops.

Centre Approves Krishnapatnam Industrial Corridor Node At Rs 2,139 Crore

Dec 31, 2020, 12:17 IST NEW DELHI: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved three proposals from the Department of Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), which includes two Industrial Corridor nodes in Krishnapatnam and Tumakuru at estimated cost of ₹7,725 cr. The Krishnapatnam Industrial Area in Andhra Pradesh will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 2,139.44 crore and around 98,000 persons are estimated to be employed in the first phase. The objective of Industrial Corridor Programme is the creation of greenfield industrial cities with sustainable, ‘plug n play’, ICT enabled utilities to facilitate the manufacturing investments into the country by providing quality, reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure to industries, the CCEA said in a press release.

Share Via Email   |  A+A A- By Express News Service VIJAYAWADA: Industries Minister Mekapati Goutam Reddy rolled out a red carpet for Japanese firms to invest in the State.The State will offer special fiscal incentive packages to Japanese companies setting up manufacturing facilities in Japan Industrial Township, especially for companies shifting bases from China along with their suppliers, he said.  “We have set up a dedicated Japan Desk to handhold and facilitate Japanese businesses into AP,” he said, revealing that another Japan Industrial Township will be established in the State. Similarly, a Japanese Enclave will be constructed in 10 lakh square feet in Visakhapatnam.
