One of the most iconic celebrations in Winnipeg will be continuing this year. The Forks Virtual New Year s Eve features prerecorded performances from artists such as Leanne Zacharias, Sebastian Gaskin, and Andrina Turenne. Don Amero is hosting.
No fireworks will be set off at their usual site this year. Earlier the site, along with Archangel Fireworks, created and recorded a firework show.
Manitobans can view the half-hour show anytime starting at 5 p.m. Thursday until 1 a.m. on New Years Day.
The virtual party is encouraging Manitobans to be game masters with friends and family over Zoom. The games use videos and microphones to keep connected. There is no required time of day to start the event and there is no countdown.
