A bench led by CJI DY Chandrachud thanked the petitioner for bringing the issue to the Court's notice and stated that they had been intending to question the High Courts that have discontinued virtual hearings.
The Court observed that employing hybrid method of hearing cases, which gives lawyers the option to appear through virtual medium or physically, has led to lawyers preferring to appear from the confines of their homes.
