Spring sees Garden Club bloom anew SUSAN DEVILDER The Star Courier Gardening, bees, birds and trees are the renewed focus of the Garden Club of Kewanee members, who are picking up where they left off after taking a year off due to the pandemic.   “It’s time to come out of hibernation,” said Joline Oswald, club president.  For starters, the garden club is announcing the return of their annual “Yard of the Month” contest, which will begin in June. Last year, difficulties in meeting and social distancing led to the cancellation of the summer award.  Oswald said the criteria for the contest will remain the same. Residents interested in catching the committee’s eye should keep their property tidy and maintained. Good design and landscaping with lots of color is also important, she said.
