The name of Rima Samman’s brother, Rami, is among the stones in a beachfront memorial honoring COVID-19 victims. She knows in her heart the 40-year-old died because of the coronavirus last May, but his death certificate says otherwise.
Now, Rima Samman is seeking to correct the record. And while monetary relief isn’t her motivation, Samman says she is unable to apply for FEMA’s funeral assistance because her sibling’s manner of death is listed as “natural causes.” Her family paid about $5,500 for a funeral home to take care of his services, including cremation, she said.
1 dead, 2 injured after crash in Winslow Township

One man died and two other people are seriously injured after a car crash Saturday morning in Winslow Township, officials said.
Township police, fire and EMS were dispatched to the intersection of the White Horse Pike and Wiltseys Mill Road around 8:30 a.m. where they found a two-vehicle crash.
Officials said Anthony V. Rebardo was traveling east on the White Horse Pike with a minor when he didn’t account for the road’s bend at the intersection with Wiltseys Mill Road. He collided into another car traveling north on the road.
