BUFFALO, N.Y. A proposal to bring new life to Buffalo’s former American Axle plant could bring hundreds of jobs to the East Side.
Senator Chuck Schumer is pushing for two companies to develop an electric vehicle assembly facility at the former plant site on East Delavan Avenue.
Schumer says he recently discussed the project with Doosan Bobcat, a global company equipment manufacturer, and Viridi Parente, an alternative energy company.
The two companies have already agreed to a partnership to produce electric vehicles, and Viridi Parente is currently using part of the American Axle facility in its operations.
