In a nutshell, workers are fed up. More and more of them are beginning to see that unions are the best way to make their voices heard. For too long, General Motors hasnt listened. Auto workers are the engine behind g. M. s success. G. M. Wouldnt be making a dime in profit without the workers who actually make their cars and trucks. Back up for a moment, mr. President. The virginia plan for example, the compromise presented at the Constitutional Convention thought the balance of large and small states and bicameral legislature. Another critical compromise is the agreement to tolerate slavery even though it would be prohibited in 1808. Without the compromise the Southern States would never have agreed to ratify the constitution and there would have been you know no United States of america. A great wrong was embedded in our find a shuttle document and the seeds of civil war were stone. The founders, even many of the slaveholders among them acknowledged slavery was an abomination antithetical to the declaration of independence many of them signed. Most hoped it would disappear for economic reasons, but for 80 years americans would live with the start contradictions between the existence of slavery within its borders and the first principle of the declaration that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights.
