UVA Political Science Chair Jennifer Lawless
University of Virginia Political Science Chair spoke to the “nuttiness quotient” in the midterm elections, as the Republican in-fighting around Representative Liz Cheney’s leadership has exposed serious rifts in the party.
“This is I think just a ridiculous display within the Republican party of how it’s not more concerned about what policies matter, what ideology is preferential or you know, what public good they can provide the country,” said Lawless.
“I actually don’t think it says as much about the Democratic Party as it says about polarization and what our districts look like,” she added, of the prospects that the Republicans can take the House in the 2022 midterms.
