Mississippi dad kills wife, son, 2 other family members before shooting himself: Cops

A Mississippi man killed his wife, son, mother-in-law, and grandmother before shooting himself during a police chase on Tuesday, according to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies conducting a welfare check found the bodies of April Fulton Tucker, 39, and her son, Bryce Fisher Tucker, 14, inside their home around 1 p.m., the Meridian Star reported. Shortly afterward, they found the body of 64-year-old Beverly Kaiser Fulton April Tucker’s mother in a shed at the same home. The body of Virginia Jay, 90, was found in another home near Vimville, the sheriff’s department said. Deputies identified Matthew Jay Tucker, 40, April’s husband, Bryce’s father, and Jay’s grandson as a suspect, according to Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun. Tucker died of self-inflicted gunshot wound while fleeing law enforcement officers in Lamar County, about 90 miles south of Meridian.

The suspect was identified as 40-year-old Matthew Jay Tucker. Authorities said sometime between 9:30 p.m. Monday and noon Tuesday, Tucker killed Jay, who was his grandmother; along with his wife, son and mother-in-law. It was unclear how the victims were killed. Matthew Tucker later died of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound after leading police on a chase.

Lauderdale County authorities identify victims in quadruple murder

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department  The identities of four people found dead at two different homes in Lauderdale County on Tuesday have been released.  Deputies were called to do a welfare check at the homes after the individuals didn t show up for work, according to Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun. The bodies of April Fulton Tucker, 39, and Bryce Fisher Tucker, 14, were found inside a home on Jeffery Acres Road around 1 p.m., Calhoun said. A short time later, the body of Beverly Kaiser Fulton, 64, was found in a shed at the home, Calhoun said. Fulton was the mother of April Fulton Tucker and the grandmother of Bryce Fisher Tucker, he said. The family lived in the home, he said.
