A year after the Half Moon Bay mass shooting in California, where seven people were killed, the community gathered on Sunday night to honor the lives lost. The vigil: Dozens of attendees gathered at the Boys and Girls Club along with Half Moon Bay Mayor Joaquin Jimenez, who led the remembrance ceremony. “This is going to take time, but what we can do is we can change the way farmworkers live.”
“Although we are fortunate to have several relief fleet… we’re still in our drought season. We still are averaging about 60 wildfires a month, and so this truck will be going to work pretty quickly here… It will not lay unused,” said Maui Fire Chief Brad Ventura.
Menlo Park Fire District officials will be donating a surplus 2009 Pierce Velocity Fire Engine to the Maui Fire Department in light of the devastating wildfires, according to the department.
