Jake Poznak, co-owner of Moonrise Izakaya, a Japanese restaurant on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, could have easily been a statistic of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the National Restaurant Association, more than 100,000 restaurateurs across the country had to close their businesses because of the pandemic. After the first wave, when restaurants began to reopen, the city helped restaurants build outdoor dining enclosures that take up spots on the street otherwise reserved for parked cars. Expanded outdoor dining in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic was a lifeline for Poznak, the business, and the vibrancy of the neighborhood.

The COVID-19 pandemic might have put a stop to international travel, but as it turns out companies are focusing on bigger, more futuristic things.
The latest group to unveil their space travel plans is Richard Branson s Virgin Galactic.
Virgin Galactic recently unveiled their VSS Imagine, the first addition to their SpaceShip III vehicles:
Virgin is working on seriously developing their commercial spaceflight company and they re hoping to begin testing their latest spacecraft this year. They will be starting off with conducting ground tests and glide flights from the New Mexico Spaceport America, with the hopes of eventually flying tourists out into suborbital space.

Publicly there was little to suggest that Sir Richard Branson and Wes Edens were anything other than the best of friends last year.
The Virgin Group chief heaped praise on Edens, the outdoor-loving founder of United States investment giant Fortress, as they rolled out Virgin Trains USA, the countryâs first privately funded passenger rail service in more than a century.
The Brightline deal was one piece of Sir Richard Bransonâs master plan to dominate the US travel and transportation market.
