Gadhvi community has called for a Mundra bandh on Monday
RAJKOT: Following the death of a second person allegedly tortured in the lock-up while in the custody of Mundra police, tension is brewing among the Gadhvi community members in Kutch who are demanding swift action in arresting the accused in the case.
While Harjog Gadhvi (22) succumbed during treatment in Ahmedabad civil hospital on Saturday evening, the first victim, Arjan Gadhvi (28) had died on January 19 inside the police lock up. Both deceased were labourers and belonged to Samaghogha village near Mundra.
Miffed member of the community have given a call for Mundra bandh on Monday and have also threatened to boycott the upcoming local body elections.

RAJKOT: A police inspector and a gram rakshak dal (GRD) constable were sent to police custody after they were arrested on Monday by Kutch police in connection with Mundra custodial death case.
Police inspector J A Padhiyar, who was at Mundra police station when Arjan Gadhvi from Samaghogha village died in the police lock-up, and GRD constable Viral Joshi were nabbed for their involvement.
On Tuesday, the duo was presented in a local court which sent them to three-day police custody. Police officials said that the duo will be interrogated about why Gadhvi was brought to police station in the first place.
