Fresh produce to enter grocer booths

The Ministry of Commerce will strive to add more fresh produce for sale at its grocer booths in lockdown-restricted areas, which are predominantly stocked with dried foods, according to spokesman Pen Sovicheat.
The remark comes after the government on April 26 issued Resolution 54 to extend the lockdown of Phnom Penh and Takmao town for another week from April 29 to May 5 in a bid to stem the spread of Covid-19. It classified regions as yellow, orange or red zones.

Deadline nears for postal firms to apply for permits

Postal service businesses found operating in the Kingdom without the proper permits or licences after April 30 could be shut down and slapped with a five-to-10 million riel ($1,250-2,500) fine, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications warned in a March 10 letter.
The ministry noted that the Kingdom’s thriving postal sector has created space for unlicensed operators to grow in the market, while others shirk their legal obligations as outlined in their licences and permits issued by the ministry.
“To improve management of the postal sector in a more effective, efficient and orderly manner and protect the interests of consumers, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications would like to call on all business owners operating in the industry to cooperate.
