birthday celebration. this happened a couple hundred miles south of the border. move on. shepard: the victim, only a few of the more than 24,000 killed since the mexican president felipe calderon declared war on drug cartels four years ago. some officials here in the united states have shown concern about that violence spilling over into american soil. and today we learned new details of a plan to send hundreds of national guardrd troops to the four states that border mexico. mike emanuel with the news live tonight at the pentagon. what exactly will these guard members be doing? shep, they will be assisting the officers who make a career at the border, also doing some intelligence-gathering. here is customs and border protection on the role of the guardsmen. they work with border patrol agents in this case to provide additional eyes and ears on the border so that they are pry
anybody thinks that the fence is going to stop the needs of a job, you re crazy. you re finding a way to get around that fence, todd harris. i find a way to get around it. people in arizona are dealing with drug, violence spilling over across the boarder in to a arizona, i don t think anyone thinks that s funny. your solution is funny. i don t think either party is straight on this. i don t think either party wants an identifiable reliable i.d. card that says you can t work in this country nlts you re supposed to be here. republicans want the cheap labor, democrats want the vote. i understand the deal. but neither one of you guys is going to tell me you re going to stop illegal immigration. i believe you if you tell me how to do it? who s going to do it? you re right. there was a bill last year. john mccain two years ago, john mccain and ted kennedy sponsored together which actually began to address both the border issue and the reality
united nations bolton joins us. harsh words from the president of mexico. your reaction to his words? i wonder if he s a news commentator or in charge of a government down there? tens of thousands of illegal immigrants are coming across our border and we are engaged in a debate what the governor of arizona has done. what about the government of mexico? don t they have any responsibility on their side to keep this violence spilling across on to our territory? it boggles the mine think are content to have thousands of the mind they have thousands of citizens pass through mexico and dump the problem on our side of the border. i think this is something for our federal government, our president, our secretary of state to be saying to the president of mexico, wait a minute let s talk about what you re not doing that is contributing to this problem.
a way out to expand their business. officials in the united states are already seeing the influence of cartels in the drug trafficking going on in the cities here in the united states of america, in california, ontario, other cities, chula vista, of course, there have already been cases of executions, torturing, kidnappings. so far it s been within that community of drug dealers based in mexico, but it will be no time shortly in the future before we see that violence spilling out into our communities. it s a problem we really need to be aware of. i m really glad you guys are focusing on it. it s not going to get any better. it s going to get worse. i ve got to tell you the violence in mexico continues. that town you talked about, norah, right on the border of el paso. just to give you an idea in 2007 there were 190 executions, in 2009, 3,400 executions. it s that bad. that is bad.

[ applause ] for years the media has largely ignored the stories of americans and lawful residents victimized by open borders. to all of those hurting out there, i repeat to you these words. we hear you, we see you, and you will never, ever be ignored again.
