Florida state capital marched chanting we want change. Florida state house voted against a bill banning assault rifles. They didnt ban those rifles but they did manage to pass a resolution against pornography calling it a Public Health risk. There were demonstrations today around the country. Students walking out of schools. Kids risking disciplinary action because they are tired of facing the prospect of sheltering in place, and ducking under desks and losing friends. The pain is still raw and you could see it at the white house today. We are here because my daughter has no voice. She was murdered last week and she was taken from us. Shot nine times on the third floor. We as a country failed our children. This shouldnt happen. We go to the airport i cant get on a plane with a bottled water but we leave it some animal can walk into a school and shoot our children. That was Andrew Pollack who lost a daughter, meadow. It is not about gun laws right now. That is another fight, another bat
Happens nowhere else other than the United States of america. This epidemic of mass slaughter. This scourge of School Shooting after School Shooting. It only happens here not because of coincidence, not because of bad luck. Of but as a consequence of our inaction. We are responsible. For a level of mass atrocity that happens in this country with zero parallel. Anywhere else. As a parent, it scares me to death that have this body doesnt take seriously the safety of my children. That seems like a lot of parents in south florida are going to be asking that same question later today. We pray for the families and for the victims. We hope for the best. Senator chris murphy joins me now. What goes through your head when you see a story like this and you represent the people you do and you have the job you have . I mean, my heart drops to my stomach because i know what this community is going through and what its about to go through. When Something Like this hits you, and you lose this many ki
Everybody wants a piece of the white house . Except for the steady stream of top officials who have backpac their bags and headed for the doors. Its record breaking in every way. The president now going to have three Communications Directors in a very short time, but no, the brain drain is extraordinary. Some of these people were absolutely not qualified for their jobs but the latest, gary cohn, very qualified who is leaving. His impending departure is shaking the market this morning. And the wall street journal, heres the headline here. Cohn quits and if you go inside and you look at the editorial, the wall street journal writes, mr. Trumps increasingly selfdamaging style of managing officials. Its a leadership fiasco that cost mr. Trump a key ally. It is a loss and this presidency cannot afford more like it. You know, mika, a lot of people last night were criticizing gary cohn saying well, gee, he should have left after charlottesville or he should have left after this or after that.
These shootings have just become all too common. On this show later, well hear from some of the survivors of the october 2017th ma mass shoo in las vegas. We have van in the van, we have two mothers who lived through that massacre. The owner of the gun store who sold the weapons to the sniper who killed. We need hope and inspiration. Tonight well get a voice of hope. A guy i call a super dad, super human being, nba super star steph curry. Well hear from steph curry tonight. We need to hear from him. We need that kind of inspiration because even while were mourning the victims of this gun violence, we have to remember something. Breakdowns. You know, even terrible breakdowns can lead to breakthroughs. You know that just looking at your own life. We take the bad and we just try to find some way to make something good out of it. Thats what we do. Thats what those students who live through that horror are trying to do by standing up for their rights. Im so proud of them. Unfortunately y ha

Estimated of half a Million People will gather blocks from the white house for our march for our lives. This event has been organized by students from Stoneman Douglas W High School who lost 17 classmates. The survivors have turned their shock and grieve action of a tired response to Mass Shootings in america. They say that tougher gun laws do not decrease gun violence, we call bs. They say guns are just tools like knives and are dangerous as cars. We call bs. Thats good. Just behind me even as we speak, many of the parkland activists are gathering with hundreds of thousands of fellas and students and including kids from the dc area who lived with the trauma of gun violence in their community for years and years. They are joined by thousands morallyi more rallying across the country. They are still calling it bs and their young voices are heard. Joining me now
