The courts which dealt with such cases ordered widely different punishments for similar violations. For not wearing a mask, one court imposed a fine of ₹.4400, while another ordered a fine of only ₹50.

‘Flight was booked as a joy ride post-wedding’
A mid-air wedding on board a chartered SpiceJet aircraft in Madurai has landed the airline in a tight spot, for flouting Covid norms, with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) probing the incident.

A police officer said, A case has been registered against former BJP MP Dhananjay Mahadik and two others for violating COVID-19 norms in a marriage function of Mahadik`s son. A case has been registered under section 188, 269, 271 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act.
