A British citizen stands accused of masterminding a grift swindling elderly victims across the U.S. through promises of big returns on investments in rare wines and whiskies
More than 150 elderly Americans were duped out of $13 million in a fake wine and whisky investment scam run by Casey Alexander, according to an FBI arrest affidavit.
The scheme, which the authorities say used “aggressive and deceptive tactics,” defrauded more than 150 people of about $13 million, according to court documents.
