Hindu petitioners in Agra have filed an application to involve the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in a case regarding the alleged buried idols of Lord Krishna in Chhoti Masjid near Agra Fort. The court has scheduled the next hearing for September 21 to deliberate on this application. The ASI s involvement in the case is still pending approval from the court. The Hindu petitioners argue that the idols were brought to Agra by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, who allegedly demolished the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura in 1670.
