These include permanent structures with facilities to handles indoor patients at in the city. These will not be useful in monsoon and alternative arrangements will have to be made. Sources said that in wake of the situation permanent solutions are being looked into. The officials at the SSG Hospital and the Gotri hospital have been discussing the possibility of having new buildings. The possibility of a new building in the Gotri hospital campus as well as a new facility attached to the SSG Hospital (SSGH) located at the Infectious Diseases (ID) Hospital in Karelibaug or the Ansuya Leprosy Hospital ground on Ajwa Road is being looked into. Oxygen dashboard to monitor supply, distribution | Vadodara News

The oxygen dashboard facility was set up in Badamdibaug Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has set up a dashboard for monitoring of oxygen availability and supply across all hospitals in the city. The facility was kicked off on Wednesday. The facility that has come up in the Covid-19 war room of the civic body at Badamdibaug will monitor oxygen supply right from the place where it is picked up from to the place where it is delivered. Apart from monitoring the quantity of oxygen supplied to each hospital, it will also monitor usage to ensure there is no wastage or excess storage.

Sources said that on April 24, around 9,900 beds were occupied in the city VADODARA: For the first time in a fortnight, the hospitalization due to Covid-19 in Vadodara city and district came down to four digits. On Monday evening, the total number of hospitalized patients in the city and district stood at 9,850. While several questions have been raised regarding the data of positive cases and deaths disclosed by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC), transparency has prevailed when it comes to the details of hospitalization. The civic body in its dashboard clearly mentions the total number of Covid-19 beds, occupied beds and vacant beds. This is further divided into categories of ventilator beds, ICU beds without ventilator, oxygen support beds and mild symptom beds.

However, there were only two ventilators available in Covid hospitals in the city and district. Officer on special duty for Covid-19 Vinod Rao said that against the peak hospitalisation of 11,109 in the city and district on Tuesday, the total hospitalisation on Wednesday stood at 10,875. “But we will have to monitor the situation for a few more days before reaching to a conclusion,” he said. The sudden decision by authorities to stop oxygen supply for those under home-based Covid care left the Coronavirus patients and their family members destressed. They heaved a sigh of relief by evening when the office on special duty (OSD) Vinod Rao put the decision on hold after a meeting with MLAs and MP. “It is a relief as we will now be able to supply oxygen to the needy. I don’t know why such an abrupt decision was taken to stop oxygen for home-based Covid care. It created so much panic among the Covid patients and their relatives. We got so many calls for oxygen bottles on Monday and had to turn away the needy,” said Sandeep Kharadi who runs Ma Khodiyar Foundation that is giving oxygen bottles for free to the home quarantined patients.
