The chair of the board of trustees said the change “allows us to be distinct from the other colleges named Union while reaffirming our connection to a faith that puts service first.”
Union s Board of Trustees approved the name change on Monday to better reflect the Seventh-day Adventist school s offerings and to stand out from other Union Colleges across the U.S.
The proposed change would reflect Union College s undergraduate and graduate program offerings and help it stand out among three other similarly named colleges, President Vinita Sauder said.
