The vessel, which was 27 miles off the Old Head of Kinsale in Cork, got into difficulty after its hull was breached in bad conditions and it began to take on water.

The Courtmacsherry RNLI lifeboat stood by The Courtmacsherry All Weather Trent Class RNLI Lifeboat was called out this morning Sunday at 11 am, to go to the aid of a 75-foot fishing vessel that had got into difficulties 27 miles off the Old Head of Kinsale in West Cork. The lifeboat under Coxswain Mark Gannon and a crew of 6 were underway from their moorings in the harbour within minutes of being alerted by the Marine Rescue Co-Ordination Centre in Valentia and proceeded at full speed to the area of the causality.

Volunteer Lifeboat Crews Across Cork Coast Bracing For Busy Bank Holiday Weekend Courtmacsherry RNLI are warning that a calm sea soon can become a cruel sea They re reminding people to wear a lifejacket, have a reliable method of contacting shore and to tell someone what time they should be home at.  The RNLI, Coast Guard and Rescue Helicopter R117 were all called to incidents in Cork last weekend.  22 year old Conor King from Douglas also lost his life when he fell into a blowhole near Garrettstown Beach. Speaking to RedFM News, Vincent O Donovan from Courtmacsherry RNLI says people must use extreme caution when on or near the water:
