Gainesville and UF Police Departments are searching for a man accused of battery after he was reported for following women and touching them inappropriately near Florida State University’s campus.
The battery occurred Jan. 29, and the FSU Police Department has since issued an arrest warrant against Vincent Steven Mickelsen, 36. Mickelsen was then spotted by UF students near Midtown Feb. 12.
UF sent out a public safety alert Feb. 15 on Twitter with a description of Mickelsen and a situational awareness alert.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â Florida State University Police Department has identified the suspect accused of following women around campus.
According to FSU PD, 36-year-old Vincent Steven Mickelsen has been seen on and around campus in recent days, including the reported incidents in the early morning hours around 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Jan. 29 and Jan. 30.
FSU PD says Mickelsen has no local address but has checked into local hotels on three different occasions within the past two months.
It is unknown at this time why Mickelsen is frequenting FSUâs campus.
