WORCESTER Nearly three months after 800 nurses at St. Vincent Hospital walked off the job over staffing concerns, a delegation of federal and state lawmakers sent the hospital’s owner, Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Executive Chairman and CEO Ronald Rittenmeyer, a sharply worded letter regarding the company’s decision to permanently replace striking nurses.
Led by U.S. Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey, and U.S. Reps. James McGovern and Lori Trahan, the letter was signed by 28 other local officials and state leaders, including State Sen. President Emerita Harriette Chandler, Worcester Mayor Joseph M. Petty and the City Council.
