Albany man killed in stabbing on Sheridan Avenue

ALBANY A 28-year-old man has died and another man faces a manslaughter charge for allegedly stabbing him to death during a confrontation Tuesday on Sheridan Avenue.
Brian Jenkins, 28, died at Albany Medical Center Hospital after the 12:05 p.m. stabbing near Dove Street.
Police said they went to the block to investigating reports of an assault at roughly the same time Jenkins arrived at the hospital with wounds to his torso.
Police said investigators later determined Jenkins had been in an altercation with Vincent Ellis, 24, of Albany, that led to Jenkins being stabbed.
Two men badly injured at Arawak Cement 30 December 2020
Two men sustained burns during an industrial accident at the Arawak Cement plant in St Lucy, Barbados, early Sunday morning.
Plant attendant Brian Moore reportedly has burns about 90 per cent of his body and is listed as gravely/critically injured. Process supervisor Vincent Ellis remains at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) with burns to both hands and feet.
Both men, along with plant attendant Erroll Lewis were overseeing a cement mixing process, during which a blockage was observed. While trying to clear the blockage, a mixture that was extremely hot was expelled, completely covering Brian Moore. Vincent Ellis also sustained radiant exposure.

Police at Crab Hill Police Station confirmed social media reports of an Industrial incident on the compound of the Arawak Cement Plant sometime during the early hours of Sunday December 27th 2020.
At 03:08 that morning, three employees of the Arawak Cement Plant –
Brian Moore Plant Attendant,
Vincent Ellis Process Supervisor,and
Erroll Lewis Plant Attendant – were overseeing a cement mixing process. During the process a blockage was observed and the mentioned crew took steps to remedy the blockage, during the procedure a mixture that was extremely hot was expelled completely covering Brian Moore, Vincent Ellis also sustained radiant exposure.

Details are only now emerging of a blast at the Arawak Cement Company’s plant at Checker Hall, St Lucy in the early hours of Sunday morning in which two men were burned, one critically.
Now Police at Crab Hill are making an appeal for information on the apparent industrial accident in which one worker was burned over 90 per cent of his body while so far the CEMEX-owned cement factory has remained silent since for the last two days.
According to police, about 3:08 on Sunday morning, three workers were overseeing a cement mixing process.
“During the process, a blockage was observed”, police said and the three-man crew “took steps to remedy the blockage” when the hot mixture was expelled, dousing one man completely and exposing another man to the radiant heat.
