AKRON, Ohio The Rev. Ernest W. Angley, a faith-healing Pentecostal televangelist who claimed a lifetime of personal visits from God, died Friday at age 99, according to an announcement on the website of his Cuyahoga Falls-based ministry.
The preacher rose over the decades from tent revivalist to running a world-wide ministry with his namesake from what would be a vast home base in suburban Akron. Delivering his sermons in his distinctive drawl, Angley was one of the most influential modern-day faith healers and televangelists, though not as flashy as some of his contemporaries.

BRUNSWICK, Ohio – Josephine Koren walked into the room, smiling and greeting her friends. If you spotted this sprightly lady and guessed she was maybe 75 or 80, you’d be wrong.
Josephine was being celebrated for reaching her 100th birthday on March 15.
A few of her neighbors got together before the big day for coffee and dessert, all wearing masks even though they had all been fully vaccinated.
“When I first moved here, I thought she’s that old and dancing the polka!” said Mamie Grunau, who soon turns 97. The polka is one of Josephine’s favorite activities having grown up in a Slovenian family.
