African Ministers of Air Transport Adopt Common Position
H.E Dr Amani Abou-Zeid, Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy convened an extra ordinary meeting of Ministers of Air Transport and key stakeholders on 15th April 2021 to discuss this issue of green vaccine passport/certificates.
With objective to agree on a common African position and establish a mechanism to properly communicate the position to responsible institutions and partners.
The meeting was co-chaired by H.E Didier Manzengu Makangu Minister of Transport of theDemocratic Republic of Congo and Chair of the AU Transport Sub Committee and H.E. Dr. Amani Abou-Zeid, AUC Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy.

Zambia’s Permanent Representative at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council has been elected as Second Vice President of the body.
Vincent Banda was unanimously elected taking over from Samuel Lucas, the Permanent Representative of Australia on the Council who Scooped the position of First Vice President.
The position of First Vice President fell vacant after the resignation of Ambassador Ainchil Gustavo Eduardo Permanent Representative of Argentina on the Council following his transfer to Austria as Ambassador.
Mauricio Koppel the Permanent Representative of Colombia was elected Third Vice President, the position previously held by Mr. Banda.
