Open mayoral races in Buffalo Grove and Prospect Heights drew only one hopeful each when candidate filing began Monday morning, but incumbents in Rolling Meadows and North Barrington could face challenges in the April 4 election.

The Elk Grove Township board swore in new elected officials on Tuesday, May 17, including a new supervisor, clerk and two trustees.
George Busse, former clerk, is taking the reins as supervisor. Suellen Satern, former senior trustee, is stepping in as clerk. The two trustee newcomers are Vince Dante of Mount Prospect and Greg Wojtecki of unincorporated Elk Grove Township. Trustees Dale Niewiardowski and Dick Keenley were re-elected, as was long-time Assessor Connie Carosielli.
