Sanjeev Agrawal, group chairman, MMG and CPRL (McDonald’s India – North and East), swears by Joseph Pilates’ quote, “Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness.” When the lockdown hit, Agrawal used it as an opportunity to enhance his home gym.
“Keeping fit has always been my motto, and even in this period, my health has been my number-one priority. I have a fully-equipped gym at home and I recently added a Swiss water-rower and a spinning machine,” he says. “My mornings usually begin with a gym session. I start with yoga stretches, followed by cardio and some light weights to strengthen my body and end with yoga stretches. In the evenings, I go for a 5-7 km walk in my neighbourhood park. ”
The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic this spring jolted Vikram Ahuja, co-founder, Talent500 – perhaps as much as it did the job-seekers that use the career-accelerator platform. Talent500 was much sought after by recruiters and aspirants alike during the lockdown, having recently launched ‘Take Two,’ an initiative designed to help women in tech successfully return to the workforce after having taken a year-long sabbatical. However, Ahuja reckons the early days of the pandemic were a testing time.
“Personally, for me, the biggest change during lockdown was understanding how taking care of myself - mentally, physically and in spirit - was important before I could claim to take care of my business, my colleagues, peers or even family,” he said.
