　　饮早茶最早是从什么时候正式开始的，至今没有一个明确的定论。　　马拉糕孙秋霞摄　　据了解，“二厘馆”一般以平房作为店铺，用木凳搭架于路边供应茶点，由于茶价仅二厘，这些店铺被称为“二厘馆”。后来，比“二厘馆”更为高档的茶居诞生了，茶居已经有了两层楼的规模，可以让茶客们坐下来慢慢聊。伴随着商品经济的进一步发展，茶居渐渐现出繁荣之势，并逐步“发展成为茶楼饼饵业”。　　庄臣介绍，清末民初的茶楼，每层楼的茶价不同，愈往上走愈贵。“广东有一句话叫‘有钱上高楼，冇钱地下踎(蹲)’，意思是有钱的人上楼饮茶，普通的老百姓消费还是在厘馆。”
