A couple of cold fronts will work their way through Southwest Florida between now and next week, representing some of the last cool weather we ll see here for the next eight or nine months.
One front worked its way through the region on Wednesday, bringing windy conditions and a trace of rain.
A second is expected this weekend. And although temperatures actually will be close to average, the weather will feel relatively cool after a recent spell with highs in the upper 80s.
“It’s relative as to what’s cooler,” said Dustin Norman, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Ruskin, which covers the Tampa area south to Fort Myers and includes Sarasota and Bradenton. “The winds will shift out of the northwest and filter in a little drier and cooler air. (But) it’s not really significant as far as a cold front.”
