Northern Liberties' bloody mary challenge is back for its third year on Oct. 15-16 and Oct. 22-23. Jerry's Bar, which has won the Monster Mash contest each year since it started in 2020, will compete against 12 other restaurants and bars to see who can make the best version of the classic brunch cocktail. Reservations are encouraged, and patrons will be able to rank each drink and pick their favorite.
The seventh beer in the PA Pride series, a multi-grain saison, will be released Friday, Aug. 26, at more than 20 craft breweries in Pennsylvania. The Belgian-style beer, called PA Pride 7.0, was brewed by Audubon-based Bald Birds Brewing in collaboration with Deer Creek Malthouse in West Chester, Zuckerman Honickman in King of Prussia and GEMS farm in Carlisle.
The 2nd Street Festival takes place from noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7 in Northern Liberties. The free event features live music performances, beer gardens, a splash zone, a photo booth, craft vendors and food and drinks from neighborhood restaurant and bars. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to neighborhood organizations.
