Tuesday, May 18, 2021 - 1:36 pm BY ADAM ATKINSON North Country This Week POTSDAM The village’s rehabilitation project at the wastewater treatment plant has faced a major setback after power was lost at the plant last week and sewage flooded the administration building there. “We have had a catastrophic failure at the wastewater treatment plant,” said Village Administrator Greg Thompson to the village board at their meeting Monday, May 17. Thompson said that the plant suffered a complete power outage on Tuesday, May 11 around 6:50 p.m. Thompson said the generator at the admin building turned on as it was designed but was not able to deliver power to the facility due to a closed breaker on the plant side of the power input.
