LEETONIA The two homes on Chestnut Street destroyed by fire in December are likely to be replaced.
Zoning Inspector Bill Pitts Wednesday night told council he has spoken with the owners, both of whom plan to replace the homes. Pitts said one of the owners wants to build a ranch style home, while the other wants to put up another two-story residence.
Pitts said the owners are currently working with their insurance companies.
The fire displaced the families at 172 and neighboring 166 Chestnut St. Dec. 14.
In other business, Village Solicitor Walter Newton provided council with drafts of legislation with regarding the village’s trash collection ordinance, including the number of trash collection licenses, hours of collection and amount of time trash cans be at the curb.
