WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) â Volunteers with the American Red Cross were out in Warren working to help those displaced by a deadly home explosion on Tuesday.
Firefighters say when they responded on Sunday there were five homes on fire and at least ten more damaged at the condo complex at Villa Pointe Drive near Schoenherr.
The Warren Fire Commissioner says the city has requested assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. ATF Investigators will search for evidence of any improvised explosive devices, to rule out that possibility.

WARREN, Mich. – One person was killed in a condo explosion that happened on Villa Pointe Drive in Warren on Sunday (July 4) night.
Police said a double condo exploded at about 6:12 p.m. Nearby residents took video of the incident that showed how intense the flames were after the initial explosion.
“Two condos have been completely obliterated. Unfortunately, there is one deceased male,” said Warren fire Commissioner Wilbert McAdams. “We found the owner in the basement.”

Novi police previously said Kivlenieks slipped and hit his head while fleeing a hot tub due to a firework malfunction, but on Monday an autopsy revealed he was killed by blunt force trauma to the chest, authorities said.
“The cause of death includes trauma to the chest area with massive internal injuries,” said Lieutenant James Meier with the Novi Police Department.
