An adult, 7ft-long bull shark nearly severed the left leg at the ankle of Vikya Gowari, a 32-year-old tribal man who was crossing the shallow waters of Vaitarna river in Manor. The shark was captured and killed by the locals. It is suspected to be the first case of an attack by a marine predator on a human along Maharashtra's coast.
